Valley Pool Plaster Oak Park Pool Remodeling

Damage to household accessories is a heartbreak almost every homeowner has to go through.

And the hurt multiplies when the wear and tear extend to one of the most celebrated accessories of your home – the swimming pool.

From being an aesthetic centerpiece to all your backyard activities to being the place to wind down and relax,  a swimming pool can be quite versatile.

But ever so often the daily wear and tear and the lack of maintenance can lead to your pool getting damaged. And in most cases, remodeling might just be the only way out.

This is Precisely Where We Come In

And if you’re a resident of Oak Park, then you probably know that there are a lot of Oak Park Swimming Pool Remodeling and cleaning agencies that are up for service.

But we at Valley Pool Plaster are here today to convince you as to why we are one of the best amongst the lot.

So, sit back and read along.

What Prompts an Immediate Pool Renovation?

But before you pick up the phone and give your Oak Park Pool Remodeling serviceman a call (preferably us), you need to look for signs which determine that a pool remodeling is absolutely necessary.

The most noticeable of them all will probably be leakage and tile corrosion, but there are other signs as well, which homeowners often miss out. So, here are some of the most noteworthy:

  1. Progressive Reduction in the Water Level

Oak Park Pool Remodeling

A sudden drop in the water level is perhaps one of the most alarming signs of pool damage, which needs immediate professional care. The cause for this reduction can be due to faulty plumbing and leakage through the internal structures, which a simple DIY pool treatment may not solve.

  1. Damaged Pool Mechanisms

By pool mechanisms, we are primarily referring to the filters, the water pump, and the plumbing. As time passes by, constant wear and tear can corrode these structures and lead to the complete damage of these parts.

This, as a result, can cause leakage or even worse, stagnant water that forms a breeding ground for bacteria and algae.

  1. Damaged Pool Floor

The tiles of the pool floor are always the first to get damaged. As they are the primary recipients of the impact of chemical corrosion and dirt accumulation, they often tend to stain and break, leaving your pool unusable.

  1. Your Pool Needs A New Look

Tired of your traditional pool structure and design? Well, a complete overhaul and remodeling of your old pool can just be the best way to go.

And we have a variety of designs that you can choose from, which are sure to add a little funk in all of your deckside social events.

  1. Drab Poolside Accessories

Deckside accessories have been growing in popularity in the last few years. From adding a water slide to fountains and jacuzzis, there a lot of ways in which you can make your deck look even more attractive.

What We at Valley Pool Plaster can Do for You

Pool remodeling is by no means easy, and as an Oak Park Pool Remodelling Company we strive to provide our customers with the best service money can buy. So, if your pool is in dire need of a remodeling, these are the following that you can look forward to when you hire us:

  1. Total Excavation of Damaged Part.

To start off, we assess the damage done to the existing structure and appropriately remove the corroded parts.

This step usually takes a day or two, and in case if we have to remodel your pool or extend its boundaries completely, we might have to excavate a large part of the yard grass and soil. The process might take a day longer in that case.

  1. Setting in the framework.

After we finish the excavation, a steel crew will construct the skeleton of the required parts. This will form the base shape and structure of your new pool.

But, if we find the structural integrity of the older pool is damaged, then we might have to reinstall new frameworks throughout.

  1. New Plumbing and Filters.

Majority of the time we would be replacing your existing plumbing mechanisms and the filters. We will also make sure that the plumbing is pressure tested and the electricals meet the state code.

For filters, we provide sand, cartridge, and D.E, and we will install the one which best suits your pool and needs.

  1. Applying the Gunite.

Gunite, which is cement, will be applied to the pool skeleton by an experienced team. This concrete is a unique dry mix to which water is added onsite. The exact amount of water is accurately controlled to create the most robust inner shell for your remodeled pool.

  1. Layering Tiles and Coping.

Now that we have the final structure set in, we then start decorating your pool according to your choice and taste. From stone tiles to ceramics and mosaics we have a vast and unique collection of decorative design that you can choose from.

And if you are looking for amazing deck side attractions, we have a collection of that as well.

  1. Creating the Deck.

The pool deck is one of the most critical aspects, which grants the pool a majority of its aesthetic appeal. And we have a collection of deck designs that you can choose from; custom stone and stamped concrete would be the most recommended.

When we set in the deck, we would also be installing the deckside accessories like fire pits or fountains (based to your liking).

  1. Final Plastering and Start.

This final plastering step is probably the hardest. This is what makes your remodeled pool the talk of the town. Hence, it’s a process that must be done with meticulous precision. Plastering ensures that your pool stays beautiful with a long-lasting gloss.

Only after the plaster sets, do we cure it and adjust the chemicals of the pool, and make it ready for use.

Happy Swimming.

Oak Park Pool Remodeling service is indeed something that we are the best at. And we hope that our guide today was able to convince you as to why we consider ourselves one of the top Oak Park Pool Remodeling Company.

5 EXERCISES WOMEN OVER 50 NEED TO BE DOING RIGHT NOW

5 EXERCISES WOMEN OVER 50 NEED TO BE DOING RIGHT NOW

Attention: women over 50!  If you are unsure about exercises you should be doing to lose weight and improve your health and fitness, this post is for you.

TRAINING SMARTER AS WE AGE

As we age we need to focus on training smarter and more efficiently, not slowing down. As a personal trainer Battersea who works with women over 50, I often hear that they are being told to slow down and not push harder – nothing could be further from the truth.

Now is the time to pump up the intensity, but in a controlled and targeted manner so you maximise the benefits as they relate to your specific needs.

The following is a series of exercise movements and types of movements that will help you get the most out of your training, as well as provide specific benefits that your age group needs – as always if you have any questions please drop me a line to james@fittolast.co.uk .

1. KETTLEBELL SWINGS

The kettlebell swing (see video for an excellent demonstration from ninja clients Mel and Sylvia) uses your hips, gluteus, and core in an explosive manner that will help improve joint mobility, strength and cardiovascular fitness.

Make sure you choose a weight that will challenge you, but not at the expense of compromising correct form. Have a look at the video and if you have any questions drop me a line to james@fittolast.co.uk .

2. MULTIPLE-JOINT COMPOUND MOVEMENTS (I.E. DEADLIFTS)

As women age they are at greater risk off osteoporosis. A great way to help mitigate this risk is by completing resistance exercises that use more than one joint at a time (aka compound movements). In this example Bernadette is completing a fantastic deadlift with 2/3 of her own body weight.

Using multiple joints means that you apply tension at both ends of a bone. This forces the bone to bend, resulting in increased bone regeneration.

As well, you are also helping your body build lean muscle mass. By building more lean muscle mass you will burn more calories at rest, which means that you will more effectively control your weight as you get older.

3. VIGOROUS, HIGH INTENSITY EXERCISE (I.E. BATTLE ROPES)

The heart is a muscle. Muscles, when tested and pushed, become stronger by adapting to the stimulus they are presented with. Keeping your heart in shape is of paramount importance, especially as we age. By including short blasts of vigorous activity in your workouts, you will keep your cardio-vascular system topped up, and your body will thank you for it.

Here Sylvia is pushing through a short interval of battle ropes, challenging her body overall to improve her cardiovascular fitness.

4. LIFTS OVERHEAD (I.E. SINGLE ARM-OVERHEAD PRESS)

Lifts overhead force your heart to work harder due to Peripheral Heart Action (when you hold resistance overhead I.e. weights, your heart works harder to pump more blood). Additionally, overhead movements like the one Bernadette is doing here use your whole body to lift a weight, meaning you will burn lots of calories in the process.

Overhead lifts like the overhead snatch are a great way to get your whole body involved. The more if your body you use, the more calories you will burn.

5. MOVEMENTS THROUGH DIFFERENT PLANES OF MOTION (I.E. WEIGHTED ICE SKATER WITH AN OVERHEAD PRESS)

It would be so much easier if we all just moved forward and backwards only…but we don’t.

To protect your body for those constant situations when you need to swerve (I.e. when that person on their phone doesn’t see you walking towards them, and you have to suddenly move out of the way to avoid a head-on collision), move in different planes of motion when you exercise.

THREE PLANES OF MOVEMENT

Sagittal – forward backward movement

Frontal – lateral movement (side to side)

Transverse – rotational movement

Try and include movements in all three planes of movement in your training routines – life isn’t all forward and backward, and neither should your training.

All of these exercises are challenging and will definitely get you out of breath. But if you want to keep your body changing and remain resilient as you get older, the benefits of these exercises will vastly outweigh the challenge to complete them.

Onsite Caravans – the Forgotten Holiday Home Option

Onsite Caravans are sometimes forgotten as an affordable holiday home option. Onsite Caravan for Sale are located all across Australia and there many different sizes and quality levels to choose from.

In general family holidays can be expensive, overseas trips with a family of four can add up to $4000 just on flights and then accommodation costs will be added on top. Australia has wide open space and thousands of kilometers of beautiful coastline. Caravan Parks have been an affordable holiday option for Australian families for decades. For an overview here are a number of different accommodation types that Caravan Parks offer;

Un-Powered Sites

Many people come to Caravan Parks with the idea of enjoying the great outdoors with their family. What better way of doing that by camping in a tent with the kids. Un-powered sites are a simple site to set up your tent and they do not provide any electricity. They are the cheapest option in a Caravan Park.

Powered Sites

If you bring your own Caravan to a Caravan Park then a powered site may be more suitable for you. Caravans need electricity for lighting, cooking, and general running of the caravan. You may even want electricity if you are staying in a tent with your family. Perhaps you will have some lighting and portable cooking equipment.

Cabins

For more comfort and convenience, cabins are the perfect option. More expensive than the unpowered and powered sites, but offer a larger and more relaxing accommodation option.

Onsite Caravans

One of the forgotten accommodation types in a Caravan Park is the Onsite Caravans. Many Caravan Parks have areas dedicated to Onsite Caravans. These Caravans are based permanently long term in the park and the owners can come and use their Caravan throughout the year as they wish. This is a great option if you are looking for a place where you can take the family on weekends and holidays without the hassle of calling and asking for availability in the park and paying expensive nightly rates.

Initially, you will need to buy the Caravan. Then there are ongoing costs, such as a quarterly rental cost you will need to pay to the park management for the site that the van sits on.  If you maximize the time you spend in your Onsite Caravan and use it frequently throughout the year you will save money compared paying ad-hoc nightly rates. The risk for a family is the commitment of yearly ongoing costs. If the family does not utilize the Onsite Caravan enough then the yearly costs will be a burden and perhaps the investment was not the right choice for the family.

You may consider looking for Onsite Caravans for sale and see what the purchase prices are. It really depends on the location and quality of the Onsite Caravans. If you find an Onsite Caravan for sale and you like it, there are a few things to consider.

Is the Onsite Caravan for sale the right size for your family? It’s good to make sure that there are enough beds for your entire family. Also consider that you may have visitors who would like to join you on your weekends away, make sure you factor these in.

Where is the Onsite Caravan for sale located? Is it near your home, best to be not too far away from your main residence (2-hour drive is ideal). To make the most of your new holiday investment you will want to make sure its not a hassle to get to.

In terms of price, Onsite Caravans for sale in NSW near Sydney will be the most expensive as this is the largest city and highest income level in Australia. Onsite Caravans for sale in QLD and Victoria are not as expensive as Onsite Caravan for Sale in NSW.

Benefits of Onsite Caravans

Children Friendly

Caravan Parks are a child-friendly environment, and over time children can make strong friendships with other children staying in the park. While in this day and age there are dangerous aspects to consider in major cities and even now in suburban areas, parents can feel quite relaxed with their children playing in a Caravan Park environment. Children can ride their bikes around the park without the danger of fast driving cars. Typically the speed limit in Caravan Parks is 25km per hour and children are a priority. Strangers are not allowed into the park without permission and access to the majority of parks is via a boom gate where identification is verified.

Outdoor Activities

With the internet and our mobile phones taking now so much of our time, outdoor activities are becoming less of a priority. Kids are absorbed in their iPods and phones and have forgotten that there is some much to enjoy in the great outdoors. Holidays in a Caravan Park can teach children and parents how to disconnect.

You may never have considered an Onsite Caravan as a good option for your family, I hope we have shared some information with you. Good luck in your Onsite Caravan search.

Learn to Drive Your Way

All of us are capable of learning new things and increasing our skills and knowledge but we don’t all choose to learn in the same way. This is why you will be provided with a range of different learning resources to accommodate your preferred mix of learning styles.

The aim is to produce a personalized training that will enable you to acquire new skills in a more natural and often faster and long lasting way, making your driving instructors enjoyable and interesting.

Traditionally driving instructors have been structured in order to cover a preset syllabus using a system that rigidly followed the “explanation-demonstration-practice” routine, leaving little choice for the learner to think about the best way to learn but to accept passively the method “suggested” by the instructor/teacher.

This method can work with some students but can be highly counterproductive when applied to other students if different approaches are not offered or explored.

At Queensland Driving instructors we understand that we are all different and we learn at different paces by adopting different strategies, that’s why is important to establish your preferred mix of learning styles so that you can learn more effectively and quickly.

You will have noticed that every driving school offer driving instructors that “will meet your personal needs” but do you know EXACTLY HOW?

driving instruction

driving instruction

The suggestions I offer are meant to outline a range of possibilities from which you can choose, rather then being a set of rules to which you must always adhere.

When learning to drive you will come across a great variety of different subjects which are often linked to each other. Only you can decide how to learn a particular skill, provided that you are left free to choose and have access to a great variety of resources.

What are the different learning styles?

It is commonly accepted that people generally tend to learn by using one or a combination of three different learning styles. These are:

-Visual learning

-Auditory learning

-Kinaesthetic learning

Visual learners are referred as “let me see” learners, meaning that they like graphs, diagrams, charts, videos and they are often good at creating a mental picture of things they have seen.

Auditory learners learn best through verbal lectures, talking things through and listening to what others have to say.

Kinaesthetic persons learn best through a hands-on approach, they will want to roll up their sleeves and do something practical to reinforce their learning experience so they will adopt a tactile approach using all of their senses.

During your driving instructors you will find that different subjects require a different approach, this is normal and you will be encouraged to try and test videos, diagrams, demonstrations, briefings, direct experience etc.

In the learning resources section you will find everything you need to make your learning easier and, more importantly, you will be left free to choose the method that suits you best.
